Website Structure

Find out how the website is structured and how to locate specific content.

Contents

This website is structured according to the same principles as many academic archives. To make it easier for users to find what they are looking for, the contents are divided into discrete groupings known as Collections, Volumes, Documents, and Images.

Users can also find items by using the search function, which exists at website and volume level.

Structure

A Collection contains thematic groupings of material (i.e., Matchday Programmes). Collections are like bookshelves in a library that house publications on a broad subject.

A Volume is a sub-division of material within a Collection (i.e., Matchday Programmes > 1920s). Volumes are like a section of a bookshelf that includes publications on a specific subject.

A Document is single item within a Volume (i.e., Matchday Programmes > 1920s > Liverpool vs. Huddersfield Town - Saturday, 26th February, 1921). Documents are like books or book chapters.

An Image is a single page within a Document (i.e., Matchday Programmes > 1920s > Liverpool vs. Huddersfield Town - Saturday, 26th February, 1921 > page 4). Images are like pages in books.
